Ladies hold their nerve for second final in 3 seasons!

Ulster Senior Cup Semi-Final

Ballymena 2 - Knock 2 FT

Ballymena win 4-2 on penalty flicks

Ballymena Ladies will return to the Final of the Ulster Senior Cup for the second time in three seasons following their win against Knock in a thrilling penalty flick shootout at Mossley on Sunday!

The Ballymena girls had to come from behind twice with penalty corner goals form Emma Gillespie and Clare Gillespie to level the match 2-2 at full time.  Ten minutes of extra time ensued, with neither team being able to break the deadlock, resulting in the dreaded shootout.

However, for Ballymena the victory was clinical with four powerful strokes followed up by two excellent saves from keeper Joanne Davis to give Ballymena the win 4-2.

Ballymena will now play Raphoe, who also beat opponents Banbridge in a shootout, in the Final scheduled for New Year’s Day.
